FAQs

How much does a portrait painting cost?

Prices vary depending on subject, size and number of people featured. Please see the price list at the top of the page, or contact Steven for a detailed, no-obligation quote.

Can I get a portrait painted from a photo?

Yes – Steven works from photographs provided by the client which can be sent via email or WhatsApp. Steven can offer advice and guidance on suitability of photos free of charge before the commission is confirmed.

How many people can I have in a portrait painting?

The number of people featured will affect the size and cost of the finished piece – for portraits with three or more people, Steven can discuss your requirements on an individual basis. You can send him an email here.

Can I commission a portrait of someone who has passed away?

Yes, many clients commission memorial portraits of loved ones who have passed. These posthumous portraits are created using reference photos and thoughtful collaboration to capture their spirit and personality.

Can I buy a portrait of myself?

Of course – Steven works from photographs and can offer advice and guidance for free before the commission is confirmed. Get in touch here to find out more.

How long does it take to do a portrait painting?

This varies depending on the size and nature of the piece. For example, a one-person portrait of 9×12” would take approximately two weeks. Steven gives all clients an estimated completion date upon confirmation of commissions. If you have a special date or deadline in mind, please let Steven know and he will do his best to prioritise your piece accordingly.

Can I arrange a corporate portrait painting?

Corporate and prestige commissions are a popular way to mark a special event or achievement within businesses and organisations, for example retirements or birthdays.
